Abstract

Sintrong leaves (Crassocephalum crepidioides. (Benth.) S. Moore) empirically efficacious as treatment of fever. This study aims to prove the antipyretic effects of ethanol extract of leaves sintrong against white male rats Wistar strain vaccines induced DPT-Hb-Hib. This study used 30 male rats were divided into 5 groups, namely negative control (CMC Na dose of 2 ml/200 gBB), positive control (paracetamol dose of 9 mg/200 gBB) and the treatment group (administration of leaf extracts sintrong 3.3315 mg/200 gBB, 6.663 mg/200 gBB and 12.326 mg/200 gBB). Rat fever induced with vaccine DPT-Hb-Hib intramuscularly 0.2 ml/200g BB. Rectal temperature of mice was measured every 30 minutes for 2 hours after oral administration. The decrease in temperature of mice were analyzed using statistical test of normality, homogeneity test, One Way Anova test, and also Post Hoc test and nonparametric test: Kruskal Wallis test and Mann Whitney test. The results showed the chemical content of ethanol extract of sintrong leaves of flavonoids, streroid, saponins and tannins. The result of measurement of body temperature decrease sintrong leaves have antipyretic activity and the effective dose of for ethanol extract of sintrong leaf is 13.326 mg/200 gBB.
