Abstract
Urinary tract infection in a culture known to be caused by bacteria. Women are generally four to five times the risk than men. Antibiotic was the first step ontherapy, but from all of that20-65% antibiotic usage was considered inappropriate. This research is aimed to find out the rational of antibiotics usage including right indication, dosage, drug, and patiens also to find out the ratioanl of antibiotics usage with Gyssens method. This research was descriptive research which wasdone retrospectively. Population of this research were all urinary tract infection inpatient in Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Karanganyar in the year of 2015. Samples of this research were the medical records of urinary tract infection patients January – December 2015. Rationality treatment was70% in precise indications, right dosage was 58%, right drug was 70%, and right of patients was 100% and Gyssens evaluation method showed that category 0 was 57%, category IIa was 12%, category IVa was 30%, and category IVb was 1%. __________________________________________________________________ Keywords: rasionality, antibiotics, Gyssens method, urinary tract infetion
