Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is Chronic disease lead a serious complications as heart disease, kidney disease, ulcer on a leg that can result amputation even dead early. DM sufferer in circumstances hyperglycemia is not controlled will with easy trigger occurrence ulcers. Insulin leaves are beneficial as DM treatment and wounds ulcers. This research aim for knowed antibacterials activity of Staphyloccocus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, decrease blood glucose levels and healing activity of diabetic ulcer from ethanolic extract insulin leaves on STZ –NA induced rat. This research using 50 male rats wistar strain , divided on random into 10 groups that is normal group , negative control (CMC 0,5%, vaseline) and CMC 0,5% + vaseline ), positive control (glibenclamide, nebasetin and glibenclamide + nebasetin) and preparations group (ethanolic extract insulin leaves 150 mg/kg BB oral, ethanolic extract insulin leaves concentration of 10% in topical and (ethanolic extract insulin leaves oral + topical)). STZ-NA administered on T-0, blood glucose levels measurement on T-5 after induction of STZ-NA, rats back injured with biopsy punch and than next given treatment for 14 days .Parameters was measured weight body, blood glucose levels rats, wound diameter and histopathology tissue regeneration skin on diabetic ulcer. The results showed that ethanolic extract insulin leaves concentration 10% has antibacterial activity to S. aureus and P. aeruginosa .ethanolic extract insulin leaves combinations dose (oral + topical ) can be lowered blood glucose levels and have good effectiveness in tissue regeneration on the ulcer skin in diabetic rats.
