Abstract
Inflammation is a response of body from injury of cell. Edema is one of inflammation sign. The aims of the research were to determine the antiinflammatory activity of Crassocephalum crepidioides (Benth.) S. Moore leaf ethanolic extract and to determine the dose of Crassocephalum crepidioides (Benth.) S. Moore leaf the highest anti-inflammatory activity with carrageenan induced and erythema method. Crassocephalum crepidioides (Benth.) S. Moore leaf was extracted by maceration method with ethanol 96%. This research using 25 rats which divided into 5 groups, negative control (CMC Na), positive control (Diclofenac Sodium 0,9 mg/200gBB), Crassocephalum crepidioides (Benth.) S. Moore leaf ethanolic extract doses 5 mg, 10 mg and 20 mg/200gBB. Carrageenan induced method antiinflammatory activity was done by measuring edema volume in sole foot which is induced by carragenan 0,8%. Erythema method of measuring anti-inflammatory activity based on the erythema score due to UVB induced. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and LSD test was done to know the difference between the treatment groups. The results of the research showed that Crassocephalum crepidioides (Benth.) S. Moore leaf ethanolic extract doses 5, 10 mg and 20 mg/200gBB has anti-inflammatory activity by carrageenan induced method while doses 10 mg and 20 mg/200gBB has anti-inflammatory activity with erythema method. Crassocephalum crepidioides (Benth.) S. Moore leaf ethanolic extract doses 20 mg/200gBBshowed the highest anti-inflammatory activity and compared with positive control. Component that suspected in sintrong leaves are flavonoids and steroids. Key words : Antiinflammation, Crassocephalum crepidioides (Benth.) S.
