Abstract

Antipyretics is a drug that can reduce fever. This study aims to determine the antipyretic activity and determine the effective doses of extract ethanol inggu leaves (Ruta angustifolia (L.) Pers.). Extract ethanol inggu leaves were extracted by maceration method using ethanol 96%. Twenty five white male rats were divided into five groups. Group I contained negative control, was given a CMC-Na suspension 1%. The second contained positive control, rats were given a paracetamol dose of 9 mg/200 g BB. Rats in the III, IV, and V were given suspension extract ethanol inggu leaves dose of 2,25, 4,5 and 9 mg/200 g BB. Fever in mice was induced by intramuscular with 0,2 ml DTP-HB-Hib vaccine. The temperatur rektal were measured before vaccine induced (initial temperature), 5 hours after vaccine, and every 30 minuts after treatment. The data response to the number of rectal temperature stastistically analayzed by Shapiro-wilk test, anova and posthoc test. The result showed that ethanol extract of inggu leaves has antypiretic lowering the temperature of rats rectum. Effective dose of extract ethanol inggu leaves as antipiretik was 9 mg/200 g BB.
