Abstract
Autism is a disorder or defect in the gen, which causes behavioral disorders, emotional, communication, and social interaction or degenerative diseases of the nerve cells in the brain. This is due to the induction of valproic acid that causes oxidative stress and mechanisms of valproate in causing the symptoms of autism in children. Soursop leaves have activity as natural antioxidants for the treatment of oxidative stess, The purpose of this study was to determine the ethanol extract of soursop leaves can improve autistic disorder and the most effective dose in improving autistic disorder. This study used 25 mice were divided into 5 groups, each group consisting of 5 mice Group I: normal control, group II: negative control (valproic acid 8 mg / 20 g bb), Group III, IV and V are peralakuan group with soursop leaf extract dose of 75 mg / kg bw, 150 mg / kg bw and 300 mg / kg bw. inducing with valproic acid performed in mice aged 14 days, then aged 15 to 37 were given appropriate soursop leaf extract dose group. Observations autism test is done by two methods: Repetitive behaviors (repetitive behavior) and intelligence. The results of the test Repetitive behaviors (repetitive behavior) and Intelligence indicates that the soursop leaf extract dose of 150 mg / kg and 300 mg / kg can reduce the occurrence of autism disorders.
