Abstract
Schizophrenia was a mental disorder that was quite extensive in Indonesia, of which about 99% of patients in the Indonesian Psychiatric Hospital were patients with schizophrenia. Schizophrenia was a chronic disease that requires a high cost. Antipsychotics are the main treatment of schizophrenia. This study aimed to know cost effectiveness among combination of typical antipsychotic therapy versus combination of typical and atypical antipsychotic therapy of patien with schizophrenia. The method study was a cross-sectional study using secondary data during the period of January-December 2016 regarding the treatment of 105 schizophrenia patients with BPJS. A total of 31 BPJS’s patients were treated by combination of typical antipsychotics therapy and 74 BPJS’s patients were treated by combination of typical and atypical antipsychotics therapy. A cost analysis in this research by using CEA and was continued by using independent t-test. The results showed that the average length of stay by combination of typical antipsychotics therapy is 39.2 (39) days and was longer than the average length of stay by combination of typical and atypical antipsychotic therapy was 33.9 (34) days. Combination of typical and atypical antipsychotics therapy more cost-effective than combination of typical antipsychotics therapy with the value of effectiveness point are 3 and 1 and the value of ACER are Rp. 3.377.680 and Rp. 10.721.072.
