Abstract

Stroke diseases are caused due to blood clots in the veins can be treated with synthetic or traditional anticoagulant drugs. Synthetic anticoagulant drugs have a lot of side effects, so as an alternative anticoagulant is used traditional drugs, one of them is Tenebrio sp. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Tenebrio sp. powder on bleeding time and blood coagulation time extention, as well as to determine the most effective dose of Tenebrio sp. powder in prolonging bleeding time and blood coagulation time. The method used in this research is the duke method. The test animals were divided into five groups, grup consisting of five rats. Grup I as a negative control group was given 0.5% CMC, group II as a positive control given warfarin dose of 0.9 mg / kg bw, group III Tenebrio sp. powder dose 0.693 mg / kg bw, given the group IV Tenebrio sp. powder dose 1.386 mg / kg bw and group V rats given doses Tenebrio sp. powder 2,772 mg / kg bw. The results showed Tenebrio sp. powder take effect in bleeding time and blood coagulation time on wistar rats. Tenebrio sp. powder dose 2.772 mg / kg bw is the most effective dose in prolonging bleeding time and blood coagulation time with an average difference of extention in bleeding time 89.2 seconds and an average difference of extention in blood coagulation time 105 seconds.
