Abstract
Pneumonia is an acute respiratory infectious disease that affect the lung tissue (alveoli). Pneumonia in toddler is characterized by the presence of cough symproms and breathing difficult such as rapid breathing, chest-indrawing or radiograph of thorax / chest that show acute lung infiltrate. Ceftriaxone and cefotaxime are 3rd generation cephalosporin antibiotics. Third-generation cephalosporins are used to treat a wide variety of severe infections caused by organisms that are resistant to most other drugs. The purpose of this study was to analyze the cost-effectiveness of treatment cost of the pneumonia pediatric patients who used ceftriaxone and cefotaxime which were used in Regional Public Hospital Ambarawa. This method used in this study was Cost-Effectiveness by using secondary data from January 2015- December 2016 about the treatment of 76 pneumonia pediatric patients who used BPJS. The data that was obtained include demographic data, the length of stay and the total costs. A total of 38 BPJS patients were given antibiotic ceftriaxone and the other 38 BPJS patients received antibiotic cefotaxime. The range age of patients were 0-5 years old. The statistical analysis used in this study was the test of independentt-test. The results of this stuudy showed that the antibiotic cefotaxime is more cost-effective than ceftriaxone with the percentage value successively was 57.89% and 28.95%. The value of ACCER successively was Rp. 48.521 and Rp. 23.092. So cefotaxime is more cost-effective comparing to ceftriaxone.
