Abstract

Sente plant is a plant that empirically efficacious as vaginal discharge and wound. Sente plants chemical constituents are essential steroid, alkaloid, tanin, flavonoid dan saponin. All of those compounds have antibacterial activity. This research was conducted to determine the ethanolic extract, fraction activity n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water of sente leafas antibacterial againts Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 28753. The sente powder was macerated using ethanol 70, that was then concentrade, followed with fractionation using n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water solvet. Extract and fractions were tested about antibacterial activity to Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 28753 with diffusion method, to know the most active fraction. The concentration of extracts and fraction was use for diffusion test are 40%, 20% dan 10%. The dilution test from the result of diffusion test was use for determine the MBC (Minimum Bactericidal Concentration), with concentration 40%, 20%, 10%, 5%, 2,5%, 1,25%, 0,625%, 0,3125%, 0,1563% dan 0,078%. Data difusion were analyzed with ANOVA. The result of diffusion test showed that extract, fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetat and water of sente leaf antibacterial activity to Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853. Fraction of ethyl acetate as the most active fraction and fraction of ethyl acetate has MBC of 20%. Key word: Sente leaf (Alocasia macrorrhiza (L.) G.
