Abstract
Ricinus roots have antiasthma effect, which contain saponins and flavonoids, that can inhibit histamine in anafilaksis reaction. Study of acute toxicity has been done, so that necessary study of subchronic toxicity. The research goals are know the long effect in kidney. This research conducted 25 males and females wistar rats, divided into 5 groups, they are control, group I, II, III, and satellite that given PGA, 100, 500, 1000 and 1000 mg/kgWeight respectively. The parameter are body weight, chemical blood e.g BUN & chreatinin and histopatologic organ. The extract are given everyday for 28 days and sampling did once a week. Than all of groups was surge, except the satellite group that surged 14th later. The result of statistic test each parameter are normaly distribution (P>0,05), but that wasn’t homogen because P<0,05. That mean there are significancy differences every dosage and between dosage and gender. The result of kidney histopatologic are high level damage in highest dosage and satellite groups. The conclusion are extract etanolic of ricinus roots given irreversible toxic effect Key Words : root extract Ricinus, short subkronik toxicity tests, weight, BUN, creatinine, histopathology
