Abstract
Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Supporting diagnosis that can be done to help the determination of tuberculosis one of them is an examination of Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in the Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. The examination of Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate in 20 tuberculosis patients was done in BBKPM Surakarta. Examination of Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate was done by using Westergren method with tube and westergren rack. Analysis of data Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate in tuberculosis patients compared with Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate value in normal people. The examination results of Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate in 20 tuberculosis patients in BBKPM Surakarta, shows there was increase of Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate as many as 19 samples (95%) and as many as 1 sample (5%) did not experience an increase in Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate.
