Abstract

Schizophrenia is a persistent and serious brain disease that involves psychotic behavior, concrete thinking, difficulty in obtaining information and difficulties in problem solving. The high percentage of schizophrenic in the RSJD Surakarta, it is necessary to monitor the utilization to avoid the adverse of side effects. The purpose of this study was to describe the use of antipsychotics and evaluate the use of antipsychotics in schizophrenic in patient care at the RSJD Surakarta by 2017. This research is a non-experimental study. Data collection was retrospective and analyzed descriptively. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. A sample of 120 patients was obtained. The study was conducted by evaluating the use of antipsychotics based on the exact indication, the exact drug, the exact patient, the exact dosage, the exact of giving method and the exact of giving frequency. The data obtained were compared with the Formulary of the RSJD Surakarta and the Consensus of Management of Schizophrenia. The results showed that of the 120 patients, the antipsychotic use of schizophrenic in patient care at the RSJD Surakarta by 2017 was based on the RSJD Surakarta Formulary and the Consensus Management of Schizophrenia was obtained as much as (100%), exact indication (94.2%), the exact patient (100%), the exact dosage (96.6%), the exact of giving frequency (96.6%), and the exact of giving method (100%).
