Abstract
Grape fruit (Citrus maxima Burm.) is a plant which peel can be used to cure various diseases. This study was aimed to find out that grapefruit pells teabag could reduce the weight and abdominal fat in female white mice and the most effective dose. This study used 25 female white mice as test animals that were divided into 5 treatment groups. The obesity group was given distilled water 2 ml/200 g BW, drug group was given xenical ® suspension 2.16 mg/200 g BW, the first dose group was given grapefruit peels teabag 36 mg/200 g BW, the second dose group was given grapefruit peels teabag 108 mg/200 g BW, the third dose group was given grapefruit peels teabag 180 mg/200 g BW. All dosage forms were administered orally. The treatment was carried out for 30 days, the leftovers were weighed every 3 days and the weight of the mice were weighed every week. After 30 days the test animals anesthetized to be taken their abdominal fats. The results of the study showed that dose 36 mg/200 g BW, dose 108 mg/200 g BW and dose 180 mg/200 g BW had reducing effect of body weight and abdominal fat in female white mice and the most effective dose was 180 mg/200 g BW.
