Abstract
Papaya (Carica papaya L) is a plant that grows in tropical region can be used as a drug to treat various diseases including analgesics. This research purposed the analgesic effect of papaya infusion on the white male mice induced by acetic acid and to find the most effective dose. Papaya leaves extracted infundation method. The test method Sigmund analgesic method with chemical stimulation to induce pain. Test animals were divided into 5 groups, each group consisted of 4 mice. Group I (negative control) distilled water, group II (positive control) paracetamol, group III (infusion of leave papaya dose of 0.6 g / kg), Group IV (intravenous doses of papaya leaf 1.2 g / kg) and group V (papaya leaf infusion dose of 2.4 g / kg). The number of writhing is counted every 10 minutes for 60 minutes. Data have been obtained then analyzed statistically using ANOVA with a level of 95% followed by Dunnett T3 tests to determine analgesic% power. The results showed that the infusion of papaya leaves has an analgesic effects on white male mice. Dose infusion of papaya leaves the most effective analgesic effect is dose of 1.2 g / kg with analgesic % power 48,21%. Keywords: Papaya leaves, infundation, analgesic.
