Abstract
Alcohol is a common problem in all countries, including Indonesia. Alcohol has caused mental, social and health problems as well as crime. One of health problems triggered by alcohol consumption is an excess of triglyceride level. High triglyceride level can lead to liver fattiness. This study aims at investigating the correlation between alcoholic drink consumption and triglyceride level. Triglyceride level was examined using GOD-PAP method/enzymatic method. This study is a correlative with cross sectional approach. The research data were processed using SPSS application with using Shapiro Wilk to see the normality of the data and the data were not normally distributed were analyzed using Spearman correlation test, with the significance level of p<0.05. The research results on primary data of 32 serum samples obtained from alcoholic drunkard men show that the average triglyceride level is 80 ± 220 mg/dl. The results of analysis using Spearman correlation demonstrate p value = 0,00( p < 0.005); and hence, it is concluded that there is significant correlation between alcoholic drink consumption and triglyceride level.
