Abstract
Durian (Durio zibethinus L.) rind is known to contain flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and phenolic which can kill Candida albicans. This study purposes were made durian rind extracts cream with emulsifier of Tween 80 and Span 80 can be made as cream preparations were qualified the physical quality test and known how much HLB (Hidrofil Lipofil Balance) value with best stability and physical quality test. The cream preparations was made in three different formulations. Through the calculation of the HLB value with emulgator combination tween 80 – span 80, formula 1 was made with HLB value of 11.86 (7,06 : 2,93); formula 2 with HLB of 12.86 (7,99 : 2,00); and formula 3 with HLB of 13.86 (8,93 : 1,06). Cream then physical quality testing includes of: homogeneity, organoleptic, pH, cream type, viscosity, adhesion, and dispersive power. Analyzed using One Way ANOVA followed by Post Hoc Test Tukey with 95% level confidence to determine the best cream formula and stable during storage. The results showed that the durian rind extracts with emulsifier of Tween 80 and Span 80 can be made preparations cream that qualified the physical quality test. Formula 2 with komposision tween 80 : span 80 (7,99 : 2,00) has the best stability of physical quality. Keywords: Cream, Durian Rind, Tween 80, Span 80, Consolidation and Emulsification.
