Abstract
Vitamin B6 has low release and compressibility, thereby leading to the difficulty of compression. For that reason, supplement material is required to improve its release and compressibility. The objective of research was to find out the effect of varying concentrations of amylum lactose made into simplex granulate on the physical quality of Vitamin B 6 tablet prepared using direct compression method. Vitamin B6 tablet was made with direct compression method using varying concentrations of amylum lactose made into simplex granulates. The preparation simplex granulates, the mix of lactose and amylum (1:1), (2:1), and (1:2) with mucilage amili binders, then physical quality test on tablet including: weight uniformity, tablet hardness, brittleness, and destruction time. The result of research was then compared with requirement specified by Indonesian pharmacopoeia and other literature. To find out the significant difference of test result on the three formulas, the result was evaluated statistically using one-way anova test. The result of research showed that the use of simplex granulate with varying concentrations of amylum lactose provided the different result significantly in formula 3 (1:2) on release time test, hardness, brittleness, and destruction time of vitamin B6 tablet. Meanwhile there was no significant difference in the weight uniformity of vitamin B6, Keywords: vitamin B6, simplex granulate, direct compression, physical quality of tablet.
