Abstract

Design of laptop softcase has not used to consider the feasibility of ergonomic aspects before. However, ergonomics based of products, equipments or facilities are very important in order to obtain the criterias. Design of laptop softcase commonly are focused in functional aspecs and lacked on the parameters which will fulfill the customer needs and/or satisfactions. This study tries to begin with the identification of the needs of customers; and based upon these data the technical specifications of designing product will be decided. For designing the ergonomics laptop softcase, the method of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is applied to identify the needs of customers for some product’s attributes (the voice of customers). These attributes will be converted to technical parameters of the product design (the engineering specifications). As the final result of the study, a prototype will be developed and made, especially for testing purpose. The analysis and evaluation are also implemented in order to check how far the product design has fulfilled the ergonomics feasibility. In this case the anthropometrics data are used to analyze and evaluate the product’s prototype.
