Abstract

Memory loss can be caused by aging process and brain fatigue or stress. Gratus sea (Emerita emeritus) is marine which expected has ability to improve cognitive function of learning and remembering. The purpose of this study was to determine instant mush preparation of gratus sea can improve memory and addition dose of instant preparation of gratus sea give effect to improve memory. This study was used Step Trought Passive Avoidence Test method using latency time difference of pretest phase before given treatments in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd days and posttest phase given treatments in 9th, 10th and 11th days. Dose used in this study was positive control Gingko biloba 0.312 mg, instant mush of gratus sea 97.5 mg, instant mush of gratus sea 195 mg and instant mush of gratus sea 292.5 mg. Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA. The result showed that gratus sea in form of instant mush preparation had effect as memory enhancer. Addition dose instant mush of gratus sea doses 97.5 mg, 195 mg, and 292.5 mg in instant mush preparation of gratus sea (Emerita emeritus) affect to enhancement of memory effect in mice.
