Abstract

Hypertension was a cardiovascular disease with high blood pressure. This disease became one of the chronic diseases that continue to be a world health problem. This study was aimed to determine the compliance of taking drugs in patients with hypertension outpatient at UPT Puskesmas Banyuanyar Surakarta period December 2017 until January 2018. This study was an observational descriptive study by using purposive sampling method in hypertension patient who underwent inpatient at UPT Puskesmas Banyuanyar Surakarta. The source of drug use data is the information written in the patient's medical record. Drug compliance was measured using the Modified Morisky's Adherence Scale 8 questionnaire as a questionnaire used to view medication adherence in hypertensive patients. The results of the compliance assessment of adherence showed that patients with high levels of adherence of 32 patients (61.54%), moderate adherence of 11 patients (21.15%) and low adherence of 9 patients (17.31%).
