Abstract

Service of laboratory assistant need to follow work procedures, especially when handling patient samples. It is important to ensure safety, one of them by Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage. Problem often arise in the laboratory are indiscipline officer in the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), because of a lack of officer understanding. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of knowledge, motivation, and discipline level to personal protective equipment usage in laboratory assistant of Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Hospital Klaten. This study was observational with cross sectional approach. This research was qualitative research continued to be associative quantitative research. Data collection by questionnaire and observation. Data analysis using F-test and t-test by SPSS version 17.0. The results showed that partially and simultaneously knowledge, motivation and discipline level of laboratory assistants of Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Hospital Klaten significantly affect Personal Protective Equipment usage.
