Abstract

Examination of hemoglobin levelis the most important examinations in clinical laboratories. International Committee for Standardization in Hematology (ICSH) recommends checking hemoglobin levels using cyanmethemoglobin method with working principle of a 3-minute incubation time. This study wassaimed to find out the differences in the incubation time of hemoglobin levels examination by cyanmethemoglobin method. This study is a cross sectional study. The study was carried out in puskesmas Karangdowo Klaten district. Data sources were 34 samples of out patient who checked up in laboratory. Data analysis techniques used Independent Sample T Test, i.e. comparing the average of the two groups that not related to each other. Results of the analysis found that: 1) There was significant difference in hemoglobin levels between 0-minute and 3-minute incubation time (p <0.05); 2) There was no significant difference in hemoglobin levels between 3- minute and 5 minute incubation time (p> 0:05); 3) There was no significant difference in hemoglobin levels between 3-minute and 15-minute incubation time (p> 0:05).
