Abstract

Self-medication is treatment effort of society to overcome light health problems. To ensure responsible self-medication, pharmacist needs to ensure adequate treatment. Actually, there are many factors that underline a person doing self-medication, among others: factors such as socioeconomic, easy access to medicines product, disease and rehabilitation managements, demography and epidemiology, reform in health sector and also availability of new products. The aims of this research was to measure pharmacist role in Duta Abadi Pharmacy Pandeyan Boyolali toward self-medication behavior which be done by patients and factors affected patient self-medication. The research was observational with cross sectional approach to describe effect of pharmacist role and self-medication factors. Statistic analysis using double linear regression method to see pharmacist effect toward self-medication behavior and factors which encourage self-medication. Results of study showed that pharmacists role in Duta Abadi Pharmacy Pandeyan Boyolali wes very significant influent toward self-medication behavior which done by patient with p value = 0.000. The encourage factors selfmedication i.e. socioeconomic, lifestyle, accessibility, environmental, demographic and epidemiological affect patient done self-medication in Duta Abadi Pharmacy Pandeyan Boyolali with p value = 0.042.
