Abstract
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a state of elevated levels of blood sugar coupled with chronic metabolic disorders due to hormonal disturbances that cause a variety of chronic complications in various target organs. This study aims to determine the use of antidiabetic and antihypertensive drug combinations as well as the suitability and usage rules used antidiabetic with formulary District General Hospital Dr. Moewardi and PERKENI 2006. The study was conducted by taking the data status of patients with the diagnosis of type II diabetes with hypertension by sex, age group, class of drug, drug name, dosage and frequency of use in the medical record instalation outpatient General Hospital Dr. Moewardi in 2011. The data obtained and analyzed by descriptive evaluative then grouped by classes of drugs most widely used. The results showed that combined drug use type II DM with hypertension are the most widely used class of Sulfonylurea + Alpha-glucosidase inhibitors + Biguanid + ACE Inhibitor as much as 22,93%. This study describes the use of antidiabetic medication and life are in accordance with the rules Hospital Formulary Dr. Moewardi and PERKENI 2006. __________________________________________________________________ Keywords: Combined use of medication, diabetes mellitus type II, hypertension.
