Abstract

The pattern of prescribing is an idea of how doctors prescribe drugs for patients seen from the main indicators of prescribing according to the World Health Organization, where indicators of prescribing patterns in Indonesia that has been investigated by WHO include: the average number of drugs per prescription, percentage of prescribing generic drugs, the percentage persepan antibiotic drugs and the percentage of injection drug prescribing. Data obtained from the prescription that came in and served at The Outpatient Distribution Units of Pharmacy Equipment in Moewardi Hospital Surakarta and Cahaya Sehat Dispensary District Surakarta period January-March 2013 as many as 314 sheets of prescriptions at The Outpatient Distribution Units of Pharmacy Equipment in Moewardi Hospital Surakarta and 204 sheers of prescriptions at the Cahaya Sehat Dispensary District Surakarta. Analysis is based on the number of drug items per prescription, percentage of drug use with a generic name, antibiotics and injectable drugs, according to the indicators that have been recommended by WHO. Outcome data showed that the average number of drug items per prescription 2.8 items at The Outpatient Distribution Units of Pharmacy Equipment in Moewardi Hospital Surakarta and 2,7 items at the Cahaya Sehat Dispensary District Surakarta, the percentage of prescribing with generic name 68.67% at The Outpatient Distribution Units of Pharmacy Equipment in Moewardi Hospital Surakarta and 36,96% at the Cahaya Sehat Dispensary District Surakarta, the percentage of antibiotic prescribing 13.46% at The Outpatient Distribution Units of Pharmacy Equipment in Moewardi Hospital Surakarta and 14,13% at the Cahaya Sehat Dispensary District Surakarta, the percentage of injection drug prescribing 1.36% at The Outpatient Distribution Units of Pharmacy Equipment in Moewardi Hospital Surakarta and 0,72% at the Cahaya Sehat Dispensary District Surakarta, this suggests that the pattern of prescribing at The Outpatient Distribution Units of Pharmacy Equipment in Moewardi Hospital Surakarta and Cahaya Sehat Dispensary District Surakarta not match the indicators that have been recommended by WHO. _______________________________________________________________ Key words : Prescribing patterns, The Outpatient Distribution Units of Pharmacy Equipment in Moewardi Hospital Surakarta, Cahaya Sehat Dispensary District Surakarta.
