Abstract
Udder inflammatory disease known as mastitis is a major problem in dairy cattle. The main cause of matitis in cattleis bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus. Antibiotics for infection treatment now began emergence the microbe strains which resistant. The purpose of this study was to determine the sensitivity pattern of erythromycin, penicillin G, ciprofloxacin and tetracycline antibioticsagainst Staphylococcus aureus. Staphlococcus aureuswas isolated from dairy which milked from cattlewhich sustain mastitis in Boyolali using Vogel Johnson Agar media and continued bacteria identification by Gram staining and biochemical tests. Sensitivity test was done to erythromycin antibiotic 15 µg, penisislin G 10 µg, ciprofloxacine 5 µg, and tetracycline 30 µg. The inhibition diameter was compared with Kirby-Bauer table. Analyze data using statistical tests of KruskalWallis test to determine antibiotic which has the most sensitive effect. Isolation results from 20 samples were contained Staphylococcus aureus (100%). Sensitivity pattern of erythromycin antibiotic against Staphylococcus aureus was 76.6% sensitive, 18.3% intermediate, 5% resistant. Sensitivity pattern of penicillin G antibiotic against Staphylococcus aureus was 70% sensitive, 30% resistant. Sensitivity pattern ofciprofloxacin antibiotic against Staphylococcus aureus was 85% sensitive, 10% intermediate, 5% resistant. Sensitivity pattern of tetracycline antibiotic against Staphylococcus aureus was 95% sensitive, 5% resistant. Penicillin G is the most sensitive antibiotic against Staphylococcus aureusfrom isolate ofmilkingdairyfrom cattle whichsustain mastitisin Boyolali. Key words: mastitis, Staphylococcus aureus, sensitivity.
