Abstract

Seligi plants (Phyllanthusbuxifolius (BI.) MA.) Showed reductase activity in broiler chickens. The purpose of this study was to determine the activity of ethanolic leaf extract seligi on triglyceride levels in male rats (Rattusnovergicus) Test animals used in this study were male white aged 2-3 months weighing 180-200 grams were divided by 30 tails in 6 treatment groups. The seligi leaves powder was extracted by mecaration using 70% ethanol, ethanolic extract and then tasted in each group with a dose of 75/kg body weight, 150 mg/kg body weigth, 300 mg/kg body weight. untreated normal controls and were fed with BR II and water, negative controls were given a high fat diet, positif controls were given the drug simvastatin. Treatment is carried out for 28 days orally. Antihipertrigliseridemia effects seen ethanolic extract activity of seligi leaves in lowering for triglyceride levels for 28 days. The results showed that administration of ethanolic leaf extract of seligi for 28 consecutive days can lower serum triglyceride levels of rats. The most effective dose to lower triglyceride levels in this study is a dose of 300 mg / kg body weight can lower triglyceride levels which are significantly comparable to the positive control.
