Abstract

Employee performance was important factor that determines the development of an organization. Organization that has employees with good performance would be very lucky because it is a useful asset for the development and progress in achieving organizational goals. This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of compensation on performance with work motivation as an intervening variable in Pandan Arang Hospital, Boyolali. This study was used a non-experimental research design with observational approach model by cross-sectional observational approach. The data obtained from questionnaires to the respondents were analyzed using descriptive methods to the employee in Pandan Arang Hospital, Boyolali. The samples used were 96 respondences. The data obtained then analyzed to determine the effect of compensation on performance and motivation as an intervening variable, then conducted validity test using factor analysis by SPSS version 11,5. The next reliability test and hypothesis test by path analysis using Lisrel 9.1. The results showed variable compensation had a significant effect on the performance. Variable compensation on motivation had a significant effect. Variable motivation had significant effect on the performance and variable compensation on performance with motivation as an intervening variable had significant effect. The result of hypothesis 1 showed that compensation had a positive effect on performance. It seen from t test value as 23,444 (> 1,96). Hypothesis 2 showed that compensation had a positive effect on motivation. It views from t test value as 33,024 (> 1,96). Hypothesis 3 showed that compensation on performance with motivation as an intervening variable showed had significant effect. It seen from t test value as 51.694 (>1,96).
