Abstract

The success of managing health is largely determined by the availability of data and information of health. National health information system based on internet facilities have reached the district/city but still minimal utilization. Knowledge and literacy of the self confidence to be very important in relation for measuring a person's confidence level to succeed in the context of health. The study aimed to determine the effect of patients self-confidence related patient's health in the knowledge about the prevention of disease, health behavior and the use of web for health information on the hypertension heart disease. The study was observational by cross-sectional research design to explain or determine the effect of patients self-confidence in the knowledge of health behavior for disease prevention and information search on the web in the cardiac in Dr. Moewardi General Hospital Surakarta. The sampling method conducted by purposive sampling which are sampling from population basen on inclusion criteria. The data were quantitative and qualitative data. The data obtained was analyzed using test of factor analysis, cronbach alpha and hierarchical regression analysis. Based on the results it could be concluded that: 1) self confidence had affect to the factor of knowledge about prevention of hypertension heart disease in collecting health information, 2) self confidence had affect to the factor of patients health behavior in collecting health information, 3) the patient self confidence had affect to the factor of web usage for health information.
