Abstract

Fennel seeds (Foeniculum vulgare) is a medicinal plants useful which contain flavonoid, saponnin and tanin which has potential be used as an immunostimulation. This research aimed look at ability extract fennel seed as natural immunostimulation, seen from the average increase total monocyte (%) and macrophage which is one of the parameters of the body immune system. This research was with seeing the different gift treatment and not gift treatment. the test group divided into a control group negative, a control group positive and a treatment group extract. Control group negative given CMC 0.5%, group control positive infected by Salmonella typhi and the treatment group has given each dose 250 mg/kg BB, 500 mg/kg BB and 750 mg/kg BB. The method testing activity of immunomodulatory which counting of average monocyte (%) and macrophage mice infected by Salmonella typhi and given by fennel extract then compared with the control group. From the result of the study obtained the third dose group extracts fennel seed can improve the average total monocyte (%) and macrophage mice infected by Salmonella typhi if compared with control group positive which is without extract.
