Abstract

Dual role conflict is a term of role conflict in a person occurring due to role pressure relating to work contrary to family role pressure. Dual role conflict is frequently happened to clinical laboratory staff as this profession is dominated by married women, the dual role conflict is most likely caused by high pressure of work demands. Therefore Dual role conflict affects the performance. The aim of present study was to determine the effects of dual role conflict to the performance of laboratory staffs in Prodia Laboratory Surakarta. Technique sampling applied in this study was purposive sampling by determining some specific criteria or consideration, involving respondents of less than 50 laboratory staffs. Data collection was done using questionnaire. Data analysis method applied in this study was quantitative analysis using simple linier regression analysis SPSS versi 21 for windows program. The results of study obtained using R Square value = 0.358 indicated significance value p = 0.000 ( p < 0.05) between dual role conflict variables indicated linear significant relationship to performance. Therefore the negative effect was 35,8%, whereas the rest of 64,2% was effected by other factors that was not investigated in this study.
