Abstract
Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a type of DM with insulin resistance abnormalities that can result in high levels of glucose in the blood. One of blood glucose control can be done by examining HbA1c. If the HbA1c level is > 7%, it is called as uncontrolled DM type 2. In patients with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes, it is often found by increasing levels of triglycerides and total cholesterol, while HDL levels are low. The objective of this research os to prove the relation of HbA1c levels with triglyceride levels and HDL cholesterol in uncontrolled type 2 DM patients. The research used an observational analytic design with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with purposive sampling technique in the form of secondary data from medical records at RSUD dr. Moewardi Surakarta with the samples of 77 patients. The statistical test was conducted using Pearson's correlation test. The results of this research in the Pearson correlation test showed a weak positive correlation between HbA1c levels with triglyceride levels (p=0.030, r= 0.248) and there was a weak negative correlation between HbA1c levels with HDL cholesterol (p=0.011, r= -0.288).
