Abstract
Fisetin (3,3′,4′7-tetrahydroxyflavone) is a flavonoid compound with various activities as a natural antioxidant. Fisetin is a drug BCS class II having a solubility of 0.002 mg/ml with very low bioavailability of about 10%, this causes fisetin still very little used as an active compound because it will limit absorption of drugs and affect the availability of pharmaceuticals. One approach to increasing solubility Nanostructured Lipid Carriers technology. NLC fisetin formula made by emulsification method. This research used glyceride-class solid lipids namely glyceryl monostearate, compritol and precirol 2% concentration. NLC fisetin formula was characterization by particles size, potential zeta, entrapment efficiency and antioxidant activity. The results showed that fisetin can be prepared by Nanostructured Lipid Carriers with emulsification method during the storage process with characterization solid lipids yielding the smallest particle size of 539.33 nm, potential zeta of -20.25 mV and the entrapment efficiency of 59.20% and there is a strong antioxidant activity in fisetin with IC50 value of 6.07 ppm, while in NCL fisetin formula has antioxidant activity which is classified as active.
