Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self acceptance and the meaning of life in ex-commercial sex workers at the Community X Surakarta. The subjects in this study is ex-commercial sex workers aged 37-66 years under the institution of the Community X Surakarta with total of 35 ex-commercial sex workers. This study uses two measuring devices, namely the scale of the Meaning in Life Questionnaire (MLQ) and the scale of self acceptance. The hypothesis proposed that there is a positive relationship between self acceptance and the meaning of life. This study used quantitative method and the sampling used the total sampling technique. The method used to analyze the data is Product Moment correlation from Karl Pearson with the help of SPSS 23.0 for windows release. The results of the data analysis showed a correlation coefficient of rxy = 0.476 with p = 0,004 (p <0.05). This proves that there is a positive relationship between self acceptance and the meaning of life in ex-commercial sex workers, so the hypothesis proposed in this study is accepted.
