Abstract

Hypertension for a long time and continuously cause strokes, heart attacks, heart failure and chronic kidney failure. This study aims to determine the pattern of prescribing antihypertensive drugs in Polyclinic Internist Tidar Hospital Magelang and find the most prescribed antihypertensive drugs. This research is a non-experimental descriptive research with retrospective data collection hypertension prescription in Polyclinic Internist Tidar Hospital Magelang on March to August 2018. The sample retrieval use purposive sampling method. The are 270 prescriptions in this research. The results shows that the prescribing pattern of antihypertensive drugs in Polyclinic Internist Tidar Hospital Magelang on March to August 2018 is 108 patient (40%) used single therapy and 162 patient used combination therapy. The antihipertensive drugs are furosemid, spironolactone, captopril, ramipril, lisinopril, irbesartan, valsartan, candesartan, telmisartan, amlodipin, herbesser CD (diltiazem), adalat oros (nifedipin), bisoprolol, concor (bisoprolol), and propanolol. The most commonly prescribed antihypertensive drug is amlodipine which is 33.19%. Keywords: Hypertension, antihypertensive, prescribing pattern
