Abstract

Inflammation is the body's response to wound stimulation. Inflammatory treatment using N-SAID drugs which have side effects of gastrointestinal disorders which are usually gastric ulcers. Leaves duwet has a compound called quercetin. The mechanism of action inhibits COX1 and COX2 activity by reducing the formation of inflammatory stimuli. The purpose of this study was to determine the antiinflammatory activity and class of chemical compounds in the active fraction of ethanolic extract of leaves of duwet and from the TLC method to obtain the most active compounds of steroids, alkaloids, flavonoids and saponins. In this study using inflammation controls (CMC 0,5% suspense), comparison controls (diclofenac sodium) as anti-inflammatory, ethanol extract of duwet leaves 100mg / kg bw rat and fractions of ethanolic extract of duwet leaves given orally and after 30 minutes were induced with 1% carRagenan. In this study to see the% anti-inflammatory power and AUC (Under Curva Area). The results of the research on the fraction etil asetat of the ethanol extract of leaves of duwet (Syzygium cumini Linn.) Have anti-inflammatory activity that is comparable to the comparison control (diclofenac sodium) induced with carragenan. Keywords: Anti-inflammatory, Duwet Leaf (Syzygium cumini Linn.), Carragenan
