Abstract
Diuretic are drug that can increase the speed of urine formation. Green cincau leaves contains of flavonoid, saponin, tannin and alkaloid which can increase the amount of added urine in the body. The purpose of this study was to study and prove the effect of ethanol extract of green cincau leaves (Cyclea barbata Miers) and the most effective dose in increasing the urine added in the body. Green cincau leaves (Cyclea barbata Miers.) Were extracted by maceration method using 96% ethanol. Diuretic testing was divided into 5 groups, namely 0.5% CMC negative control group, positive control group furosemide 3,6 mg/kg BB and green grass jelly leaf extract group (dose 60 mg/kg BB), green grass jelly leaf extract group ( dose 120 mg/kg BB), green grass jelly leaf group (dose 240 mg/kg BB). Data analysis using the Kolmogorov Smirnov test followed by the One Way ANOVA test. The results showed that the ethanol extract of green grass jelly leaves could have diuretic activity. At the dose of green grass jelly leaf extract at a dose of 60 mg/kg BW the diuretic activity was lower than the green grass jelly leaf extract at a dose of 120 mg/kg BW. Green grass jelly leaf extract at a dose of 240 mg/kg BW has a more optimal diuretic effect. Keywords: Green grass jelly leaves, Furosemide, Diuretics, Extracts, Cyclea barbata Miers.
