Abstract

The study was conducted using a descriptive non-experimental method, by talking 119 retrospectively data samples then performed on the suitability of antihypertensive drugs and JNC VIII. Performed by looking at medical records of patientswith hypertension at the inpatient installation of Karanganyar Hospital. Hypertension is one of the important risk factors that can lead to cardiovascular complications. Hypertension is a condition a person experiences an increase in blood pressure above pressure ≥ 140 mmHg and or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg. Hypertension is included in the top 10 most diseases category which ranks first in Karanganyar hospital. The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of the use of antihypertensive drugs in inpatient installations in Karanganyar Hospital in 2018. The results of the study showed that the prescription of the most widely used antihypertensive drug was amlodipine (64,3%). Suitability of prescribing antihypertensive drug in geriatric hypertensive patients in the inpatient installation of karanganyar Hospital in 2018 against JNC VIII exact dose of 90% is not the right dose of 10% exactly the frequency of 89% is not the right frequency of 11%.
