Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by high blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia) caused by impaired insulin secretion. Hypertension is a disease that occurs in blood vessel disorders that are characterized by high blood pressure. This study aims to determine the accuracy of drug selection, dosage, duration of administration and frequency of treatment of patients whit type 2 diabetes mellitus with complications of hypertension in RSUD Pandan Arang Boyolali in 2018. The sample in this study was 60 patient diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus with complication of hypertension. This study was non-experimental which was analyzed descriptively. Retrial of data from a patient’s medical record. The results showed that diabetic drugs used arally were metformin, glimepiride and glumin xr, while for parenteral drugs novorapid, lantus and levemir. Hypertension drugs used are oral drugs amlodipine, captopril, ramipril, lisinopril, valsartan, irbesartan dan candesartan. The suitability of treatment based on PERKENI 2015 and American College of Cardiology 2017 gudelines in hospitalized patients in RSUD Pandan Arang Boyolali in 2018 includes several evaluation parameters, the right patient has an indication of 100%, right for the patient 100%, right for the drug 100%, the right route of administration 100% and the right dose 91.7%.
