Abstract

Diabetes is a global epidemic problem that, when not immediately handled seriously, will result in an increase in the impact of significant economic losses. RISKESDAS demonstrated significant increase in diabetes prevalence rate of 6,9% in 2013 to 8,5% in 2018 so that estimated number of sufferers in Indonesia reached more than 16 million people who were then at risk of other diseases such as heart attack, stroke, blindness and renal failure can even cause paralysis and death. This research aims to know the pattern of prescribing diabetes drugs in type 2 diabetes patients in the outpatient installation of Kasih Ibu Surakarta Hospital period in July-December 2018. The method used in this study is a descriptive non-experimental, with retrospective data retrieval by viewing medical records in patients with type 2 diabetes. The criteria of the sample used in this study are patient suffering from type 2 diabetes disease without any complications in the outpatient installation of kasih Ibu Surakarta Hospital period in July-December 2018. The results of the research showed thath the criteria of ytpe 2 diabetes patients based on gender is the most female (54,16%) and most of age are patients with age between 45-65 years (79,19%). Prescribing antidiabetic drugs type 2 in the outpatient installation Kasih Ibu Surakarta Hospital period in July-December 2018 the most widely precribed medicine is a combination between metformin and glimepiride (24,99%).
