Abstract

Pain is a sensory and emotional experience related to tissue damage. This research to determine the analgesic effect of n-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate and water extract of ethanolic leaf duwet using Randall Selitto method and to find out the compound group in the fraction that has the potential as an analgesic. Duwet leaf powder was extracted by maceration method with 96% ethanol. A total of 30 rats were divided into 6 groups, namely negative control of CMC Na 1%, positive control of mefenamic acid 9 mg / 200 gram BB, ethanol extract of duwet leaf dosage 60 mg / 200 gram bb, n-hexane fraction dose 1,435 mg / 200 gram bb, the ethyl acetate fraction dose 27.204 mg / 200 gram bb and the water fraction dose 31.360 mg / 200 gram bb. AUC data of load pressure obtained were analyzed by ANOVA test. The results showed that the extracts and fractions of duwet leaves had an analgesic effect. Effects of extracts and ethyl acetate fractions comparable to mefenamic acid. Ethanol extract of duwet leaves has a stronger analgesic effect than fraction because the compound content of the extract is more than the fraction. Ethanol extract of duwet leaves, n hexane and ethyl acetate fractions contain alkaloid, tanin and flavonoid compounds. Keywords: Analgesics, Fractions, Randall Selitto, Leaf duwet
