Abstract

Myricetin is a flavonoid compound with various activities, one of which is a natural antioxidant. Myricetin has a small water solubility (16.60 µg / mL) and very low bioavailability of around 10%, and low absorption so that the application of myisetin in oral and dermal dosage forms is limited. One approach is to increase the solubility of myisetin with the technology of Solid Lipid Nanoparticles (SLN). This study was conducted to determine that miriseti can be formulated into SLN using glyceride-class solid lipids by the emulsification method. Myricetin SLN was made using the emulsification method. This study used glyceride lipids in the form of GMS, presirol, and compritol and surfactants in the form of tween 80. The SLN mirisetin formula made was characterized by looking at particle size, adsorption efficiency, visual stability test and potential zeta measurements, and DPPH test. The results showed that myricetin can be made from Solid Lipid Nanoparticles using glyceride-class solid lipids with the emulsification method, presirol solid lipids 6% produce the smallest particle size, the resulting absorption efficiency is not good. Stability tests observed visually for 2 weeks showed stable results while the potential zeta measurements were -14.1. Antioxidant test with DPPH produced IC50 of 23.5 ppm.
