Abstract

Trembesi leaves contain many bioactive compounds that are efficacious as medicine. One of the properties of trembesi leaves is as an antibacterial derived from the content of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and quinones. The purpose of this study was to determine the emulgel formulation of trembesi leaf ethanol extract (Samanea saman (jacq.)Merr.) As an antibacterial with various concentrations of ethanol extract of trembesi leaves which had the best activity against Staphylococcus aureus. The extraction method used was maceration method using 96% ethanol. Trembesi leaf ethanol extract emulgel was made in 3 formulations. Formula 1 contains 2%, formula 2 contains 4% and formula 3 contains 6% ethanol extract of trembesi leaves. Emulgel negative control without ethanol extract of trembesi leaves and positive control using gentamicin emulsions. Tests obtained in the form of organoleptic test, pH test, scattering power test, sticky power test, homogeneity test, viscosity test, emulgel stability test, and antibacterial activity test. Analysis of antibacterial healing data using one way anova and data analysis of emulgel formulations using one way ANOVA and continued with two way ANOVA. The results showed that the best formula was formula 2 due to the organoleptic test having a shiny green color in accordance with good visuals that is an attractive emulgel, also has the ability to cure erythema the fastest among other formulas.
