Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is a state of hyperglycemia caused by insulin produced not functioning properly. Hyperglycemia conditions cause an increase in glucose levels in the blood making it easier for skin problems in the form of bacterial infections one of which is Streptococcus sp bacteria. This research is an observational study. The research method used is latex agglutination. The purpose of this study was to determine whether people with Diabetes Mellitus type 2 in Bibis Luhur RW 22, Surakarta had an streptococcal infections and what was the prevalence. The number of samples in this study were 30 people with Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 in Bibis Luhur RW 22, Surakarta. ASO examination results in patients with Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 are 3 (10%) positive and 27 (90%) negative. This shows that 10% of people with Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 have streptococcal infections. Key words: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, ASO, Streptococcus sp
