Abstract

Cigarette contains thousands of toxic chemical causing adverse effects for health such as tar, nicotine, lead, and carbon monoxide. Indonesian people have known cigarette for long time and cigarette have become an international problem, some researches revealed that cigarette smoking lead to lowerleukocyte and erythrocyte levels. The aim of the present study was to deter mine the results of routine blood test of smokers in Bibis Luhur Village Banjasari Surakarta. This research was conducted in Bibis Luhur Village Banjarsari Surakarta in volving samples of 30 male active smokers. Routine blood test was conducted in laboratory of Banyuanyar Community Health Center in January 2019, using Hematology analyzer automatic. Based on the results of the research conducted to 30 samples of smokers indicated that 26 persons (86,7%) have normal erythrocyte level, 4 persons (13,3%) have higher than normal erythrocyte level, 24 persons (80%) have normal leukocyte level, 2 persons (6,6%) have lower than normal leukocyte level, 4 persons (13,4%) have higher than normal leukocyte level, 30 persons (100%) have normal thrombocyte level, 30 persons (100%) have normal hematocrit level.
