Abstract

Hepatitis B is a disease caused by the hepatitis B virus. Transmission of Hepatitis B can occur through blood transfusions, the use of syringes alternately, making permanent tattoos, piercing, acupuncture, examination of the oral cavity / dentist, or through family members suffering from hepatitis. Transmission of a disease caused by a lack of awareness about clean and healthy living behavior often occurs in people who live in one place together like people who live in dormitories and in boarding schools. The purpose of the study at the Gentan Islamic Boarding School, Baki, Sukoharjo was to find out whether there were any santris infected with the Hepatitis B virus. This study included observational research. The method used in this study was an immunochromatography method using Rapid test. The sample used in this study was 50 santriwan from 110 santri at Ad-Dhuha Gentan Islamic Boarding School, Baki, Sukoharjo. The results of the examination showed that there were no santris infected with the Hepatitis B virus. The percentage of HBsAg (100%) examination results was negative or did not contain HBsAg and (0%) was positive, meaning there was no positive HBsAg. Keywords: Hepatitis B, santri, rapid test, HbsAg.
