Abstract

Grape contains vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates. Grapes that sold on the roadside have heavy metal contamination from air pollution, motor vehicle fumes, water, and pesticides that pollute the soil so that it can accumulate. This research aims to know the best destruction method for analysis of lead metal (Pb), determine lead metal levels (Pb), and whether the levels of lead metal contained in red grapes sold on the roadside meet SNI quality standard requirements of 73872009. The research was conducted by atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS) in the wavelength of 283.3 nm. Sample preparation was done by using dry destruction method dissolved with HNO3: HCl (1:3) and wet destruction dissolved with concentrated HNO3. The results showed that a good method used was wet destruction. Lead levels (Pb) cannot be determined in red grapes, because Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry is less sensitive. The levels of lead metal (Pb) in red grapes cannot be compared with the SNI quality standard number 7387-2009.
