Abstract
Social interaction is a dynamic social relationship between individuals and individuals, individuals with groups, groups with groups that influence, improve, or change each other so that a social structure is formed. Setia Budi University students, especially semesters 2 and 4 certainly have good social interaction, because students are in the emerging adulthood phase, namely the transition from late adolescence to early adulthood and experiencing psychological dynamics, of course requiring high social interaction. Students who have low internet addiction will appear more free to interact, be more friendly, get along easily, and do not feel anxious when dealing with other people, because these individuals have high social skills. This study aims to determine the relationship between internet addiction and social interaction in students of Setia Budi University Surakarta and is a type of quantitative research with two variables, namely internet addiction and social interaction. The measurement tool in this study uses the scale of social interaction and the scale of the Internet Addiction Test (IAT). The sampling technique used was purposive random sampling. The number of samples analyzed was 50 people. The analysis technique used Pearson product moment analysis with the help of SPSS version 23.0. Based on the results of the study obtained correlation coefficient (r) of -0.316 with p = 0.025 (p <0.05) between the variables of internet addiction and social interaction in students. From the analysis carried out, it can be concluded that the hypothesis proposed in this study is accepted. That is, there is a significant negative relationship between internet addiction and social interaction with students. Keywords: Students, Internet Addiction, Social Interaction.
