Abstract

Brassicaceae familly was a grroup of plant that widely used as vegetables. Brassicaceae family had potential as an antioxcidant. Antioxcidant a gainst free radical in the body so that it can reduce premature aging. This study were aimed to determine differences in the physical properties and antioxcidant activity of Brassicaceae family extract gel and to know the ethanol extract gel of the Brassicaceae family which has the best antioxcidant activity. This study used a sytematic review of the literarure ralating to gel formulation of the Brassicaceae family as antioxcidants. Data searchs were conducted electronically using nasional and internasional journal databases from searches on Google Scholar. From some of the articels obtained were the further studied to be selected as a literature library that include in the inclusion criteria and compiled as a literarure library that include in the inclusion criteria and compiled as a literarure review making scientific papers. The results showed that the Brassicaceae family extract gel with variations in the concentration of extracts and gel bases produced different physical properties of pH, spreadability, and viscosity, as well as antioxidant activity. The higher the concentration of the extract in the gel, the higher the antioxidant activity. The Brassicaceae family extract gel which had the best antioxidant activity was the 10% red cabbage flower gel with an IC50 value of 57.48 ppm. Key words : family Brassicaceae, gel, gel physical properties, antioxcidant activity
